Late Janab Dr. S . Nazeer Muhammed, was a great visionary, with charitable disposition towards the society and focussed ambition for the upliftment of poor, deprived and downtrodden among Muslim community, besides being a devout Muslim throughout his life-span.

          His yearnings to help Muslims wanting small monetary help, food and clothing at least in a small measure, prompted him to conceive and give birth to Baitulmal Tamailnadu in the year 1968, with the active support of some of his likeminded associates, and the same was registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, vide Reg. No. 255/1969, a milestone accomplished by him in his lifetime, uncommon with many others. This was his lifetime dream fulfilled after great strenuous efforts and selflessly sacrificing his time, energy and comforts.

          By the grace of Almighty Allah, His mercy and benevolence, the Baitulmal has travelled 53 tumultuous, excruciating, challenging and promising years, after putting baby-steps initially and improving, progressing and developing brick by brick to great new heights subsequently, transforming Baitulmal, from a small entity, in a full-blown charitable institution by 12-Dec-2013 (when he demised) capable of helping and assisting poor Muslims by distribution of monthly ration, clothing, Ramzan kits and extending financial assistance to school and college students, including those pursuing medical, para-medical and engineering courses, to the extent possible, Marriage assistance, conducting group marriages helping the couple with necessary minimum, marriage kits, interest-free jewel loan assistance, musthaqeen (most deserving persons, in dire need of financial, medical and other assistance) besides conducting Arabic madrasa, Tailoring coaching classes, followed by distribution of free sewing machines to those completing the course successfully, arranging circumcision, and arranging mortuary van and meeting burial expenses to those who cannot afford it.

         The dream and vision of the founder of the Baitulmal has been faithfully carried forward by subsequent office-bearers with the same spirit, and the Baitulmal has today become one of the primary charity institutions, reaching the zenith, and moving onward and forward, without looking back, increasing its scope for and wide, expanding its activities multi-fold.
